Cybernetics
Cybernetics (short for Cybernetic Augmentations) are a class of Item which can modify characters skills and provide positive (and/or negative!) effects.
Cybernetics are typically produced and repaired by Cybernetics Engineers.
Cybernetics are typically installed by Cybernetics Surgeons through a specific Medical Procedure.
The use of Cybernetics across the Federation is mixed. Some cultures adopt the technology happily and willingly, some are more cautious of them – seeing them as a security risk and potential vulnerability.
Many Cybernetics carry both positive and negative traits.
When installed, Cybernetics provide a number of ‘Neural Loading’ points. These Neural Loading points represent the ability of the user to interface safely with installed Cybernetics. Typical player characters have FIVE Neural Loading points which can generally be safely installed. Installing Cybernetics beyond this limit is possible, but carries risk of significant side effects or damage.
When installed, Cybernetics should be attached to the character card. Removal of the Cybernetic must be performed by a Cybernetic Surgeon.
Cybernetics do not typically require upkeep or maintenance, except when RENDED, or another in-game effect requires it.
