(31/01/26) Build build build! And also What’s Your Game!
Welcome back to this Dev Log for January 2026.
We went live with Tickets on 2nd January, and almost a month later, I’m pleased to say we’ve got around 20 players booked in (with deposits paid!) and very nearly the same in crew, which is excellent news. We’re thrilled about the support for the game – please keep engaging with us as we bring Drift to life.
Related to that – whilst we’re really pleased about the uptake thus far, the earlier that players are booked in (and deposits paid!) the more we can commit financially in terms of the scale of the event. We know there are a number of players who we’ve been engaging with about the game, who haven’t booked in yet. If that’s you, or your friends, please try to get booked in and the 50% deposit paid as soon as you can – which allows us to deliver a bigger event!
Remember that the early bird discounted tickets (£90) are available until March 1st, after which will be the full price (£100), so if you want to save yourself a tenner, and help us run an even bigger event, get booked up!
Anyways, onto the updates.
At our last game team brief a couple of weeks ago, I gave the direction to ‘build build build’. To take the next 6 weeks or so to build out all sorts of areas of the game; lore, setting, encounters, gribblies, crew kit, props… and I’m absolutely thrilled with what the team have come up with. As I write this, Alex is busy painting NPC kit, Keanu has produced enough propaganda to indoctrinate a small nation, Ed has written an entire ship engineering guide and the 3D printer has been back-to-back printing… things.
We’ve got some really deadly terrifying awful fun and intriguing stuff coming together which we can’t wait to invite you into at E1.
In the mean-time, Becki has been hard at work pulling together our Weapons rules, and accessibility and other policies which we hope to publish in the next week or two.
Alex and I will be at What’s Your Game next weekend talking about Drift. You’ll find us wandering around in kit as some (future!) NPCs and handing out flyers – so come find us and chat!
Lastly … We dug up something from the Nexus News Corp archives, you can find here.
Cheerio!
