(20/04/26) Character Creation Launch and… sold out!

Estimated reading: 3 minutes 36 views

Welcome back to the blog. Today we’ve got quite a few updates for you!

Firstly, we’re thrilled that we have officially hit our 50 player ticket capacity. We thank everyone for your support in what is a really wild milestone to be honest! We conceptualised Event One hoping we’d get 30 players, but put a cap just in case… and here we are! All of this has just meant we’ve been able to put more and more into the game, and we hope you’re as excited about it as we are.

From here on out, we will be operating a first-come first-serve reserve list, in the event any of our booked players need to drop out.

We are still recruiting Crew, so if you want to come and see what the game is about from the other side, and to throw some players out of airlocks, jump on-board.

Speaking of Crew, we’ve also launched our Crew Event Addendum document – Crew can find the link in Discord in the Crew Announcements channel, but if you need a copy separately, reach out and let us know. For obvious reasons, this pack is for Crew Eyes Only!

Now, on to other matters.

Today we’re launching the Character Creation window. The Window will run until the 18th May (~4 weeks), during which time we are asking for all players to complete the Character Creation form. This gives us enough time to read and vet all of your character submissions, and let us prepare all the lammies and other behind the scenes work that needs doing to make sure the event kicks off smoothly.

We’ve also done a pass through of various pages on the website to align properly, and the eagle eyed will not that we’ve made the decision to drop the Gear Point system for character creation. Whilst it seemed like an interesting idea, the actual outcome of it wasn’t quite aligning with our game design goals – so we’ve gone with a simpler system.

Check out the updated Character Creation and Character Progression pages, as-well as the Standard Gear List.

Once you’re familiar with those, you can go ahead and submit your characters here: https://forms.gle/x7Q1o1f9YeUx8cUv8

A final note, we’ve been talking with a lot of other event organisers recently, who’ve offered support, advice, kit loans and materials to bring Drift to life! We specifically want to shout out Charlie, Dan and Dando of Starkey Studios (who produce the excellent Guardsmen Event), Enys (formerly of GC), Modern Mythic (Tithing), Drunken Monkey LRP, Orionsphere LRP and Forsaken Lands – thanks to each of you.

As usual, if you have any questions or queries, shoot us a message on Discord, on socials, or via email.
