The Nocturni homeworld of Nocturne is a brutally inhospitable and barren landscape. Under the gaze of a white dwarf star, temperatures and UV levels are orders of magnitude greater than survivable except from brief respite at night. Life on Nocturne instead evolved under the surface of the planet, protected from the harshness of the light.

Without easily being able to exploit natural resources, and living in darkened caverns, Nocturni are both highly observant and resourceful. They make excellent problem solvers, quick-thinkers and intelligence-gatherers.

Nocturni are usually easily recognisable by their need to cover up in natural light, typically donning cloaks, hoods and other protection for their unadjusted skin and eyes.
