Ka’hetians

Having lost their homeworld to a cataclysmic event thousands of years prior to the present day, Ka’hetians set out across the stars in generation ships in search of new homes. After arriving on Earth around 4500 cycles BD, Ka’hetians set about gently influencing humanity in order to ensure its succession to the stars from behind the scenes.

Patient, tactful and insightful, Ka’hetians are often found in positions as negotiators, philosophers and scientists. Ka’hetians are also known for their dedication to the arts; with some taking decades to compose grand masterpieces.

Lizard-like in appearance, Ka’hetians can have diverse features, depending on which generation ship they descended from. All Ka’hetians feature scaled skin, typically in greens, ochres or deep blues.

Species Perk:
Ka’hetians are experts in maintaining a low profile, and can blend into groups of people without being easily detected.
Ka’hetians may become HIDDEN in groups of people after being undetected for a few seconds. Raise one hand in a closed fist to indicate HIDDEN. Taking hostile or obvious actions will remove HIDDEN.

Culture

Ka’hetian culture bore striking similarities to what humanity would later recognize as the traditions of ancient Egypt. Their society was deeply symbolic, structured around reverence for legacy, cosmic order, and the enduring nature of civilization. Monumental architecture, ritualized governance, and a belief in continuity beyond individual lifetimes defined Ka’hetian identity long before their presence on Earth was known.

Millenia before mankind took its first steps out of Africa, the people of Ka’het had already ascended to being a space-faring civilisation. Expanding across the solar system, the Ka’hetians exploited the rich resources and diverse culture with their own history. However, despite their best efforts, the Ka’hetians were never able to break the light-barrier, and never set foot on a world outside of their system.

When Ka’hetian research into faster-than-light travel led them to experimenting upon their own star, they unwittingly set in motion a chain reaction, resulting in the gravitational destabilisation of their star, and solar system. Recognising that this would spell the end of Ka’hetian civilization, a generation was raised with the sole intent of building a fleet of a thousand colony-ships, to spread out into the galaxy in search of a new home. Each of these ships, over time, would develop distinct traits, beliefs and cultures, and eleven thousand cycles later, the descendants of one such generation ship, the Qi’sa, would crash land in northern Africa.

When the Ka’hetians first made contact with early human civilizations, it was in the emerging city that would later take the name, Giza, that their influence took deepest root. The Egyptians, already inclined toward reverence of the eternal and the divine, readily adopted Ka’hetian cultural elements. Ka’hetian figures became gods and guides, their symbols woven into myth, language, and ritual. Rather than resisting this adaptation, the Ka’hetians encouraged it, understanding that cultural integration was more powerful than overt rule.

Among the most enduring legacies of this exchange was architecture. The Ka’hetians imparted advanced knowledge of geometry, materials, and large-scale construction, enabling the Egyptians to build megastructures far beyond the technological norms of the era. The pyramids were not merely tombs, but proof-of-concept monuments, demonstrations of structural mastery, celestial alignment, and societal coordination inspired by Ka’hetian design philosophies. Beyond that, the pyramids were technologically functional, acting as amplifiers for the Qi’sas communications system, to signal to other generation ships that safe harbour had been found.

The pyramids stand as humanity’s earliest echo of Ka’hetian engineering, a reminder that Earth’s ascent was guided long before the stars were within reach. In this way, ancient Egypt became the first human civilization shaped by an alien hand, one whose lessons would ripple forward into the foundations of the Federation itself. Sites such as the Pyramids are still to this day revered by the Ka’hetians and Humans alike, under watch of Human and Ka’hetian Honour Guards, whilst millions of pilgrims venture to these sites from across the Federation.

Ka’hetian naming traditions vary wildly between the planets and stations that the Ka’hetians choose to call home. This means that there are traditional components to Ka’hetian names, such as soft ‘s’ and ‘th’ sounds, but that individual Ka’hetian names are heavily influenced by the societies and conventions of their home planets. Examples; Asrith, Ka’thessir, Thassiren, Saethren.
